DON'T SHOP, ADOPT!

Puppies and kittens in pet shops are irresistible but have you considered the local animal shelters? They have so many deserving animals waiting for new homes. Many pure bred rescue organizations also have animals available for adoption.

Did you know that in 2006 9,174 animals were surrendered to the animal shelters in Ventura County? And, 3,684 never left and were euthanized.

If you are searching for a purebred, many rescue groups specialize in purebred rescue. Selecting an animal based on the characteristics that suit your lifestyle and family is fundamental in ensuring a long and enduring life for the pets we treasure.
